Gentian 0.5% aqueous solution is a drug, also called Pyoctanine, used to disinfect surface damage to the epidermis, skin or mucous membranes. The purple solution can also be used to disinfect purulent infections of the skin and mucous membranes. Gentian violet is intended for external use.
For disinfection of superficial damage to the epidermis, mucous membranes and skin, for use in purulent infections of the skin and mucous membranes, some mycoses and yeast infections.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to methylrosaniline chloride. Do not use in people suffering from porphyria
Warnings:
Do not use in the eyes, on granulating wounds or ulcerative lesions on the face. Methylrosaniline chloride stains tissues, stains fabrics and clothing. Stains from fabrics can be removed using a mixture of ethanol and acetic acid.
How to use:
The drug should be used externally - topically, as a disinfectant. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage:
Store at temperatures below 25°C, in the original packaging.
