Octenisept is a disinfectant liquid containing active substances: octenidine dihydrochloride, phenoxyethanol. Octenisept has bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties. The microbiological effectiveness of the drug has been extensively documented in both laboratory and clinical studies. The effectiveness of the drug in destroying microorganisms or inactivating viruses occurs already 1 minute after applying the liquid. After additional mucosal protein loading in laboratory conditions, the drug has a destructive effect on bacteria (including Chlamydium and Mycoplasma), fungi, yeasts, protozoa (Trichomonas), viruses (Herpes simplex, inactivates HBV and HIV).

Octenisept is intended for:

disinfection and supportive treatment of small, superficial wounds and skin disinfection before non-surgical procedures
supporting antiseptic treatment of closed skin surfaces after procedures - e.g. post-operative sutures
repeated, short-term antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before and after diagnostic procedures in the genital organs and anus, including the vagina, vulva and glans penis, as well as before urinary bladder catheterization
in pediatrics (including for the care of the umbilical stump)
for disinfection of the oral cavity (e.g. canker sores, irritation caused by wearing orthodontic appliances or dentures)
time-limited supportive antiseptic treatment of interdigital mycosis
in the area of the reproductive organs, e.g. vaginal inflammation, as well as in the area of the glans penis of a man.

The active substances of the drug are: octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. 100 g of liquid contains 0.10 g of octenidine dihydrochloride and 2.00 g of phenoxyethanol. The other ingredients are: cocamidopropyl betaine - 30% or 38% solution (amidopropylcocoic acid dimethylammonium acetate, sodium chloride, water), sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
