Vitamin deficiency is associated with various serious diseases (e.g. osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, obesity). Therefore, currently, the detection of vitamin D-25(OH)D levels is considered essential. Maintaining sufficient levels of vitamin D is important not only to improve bone health, but also to improve your overall health and well-being. The Vitamin D test is intended to determine the level of vitamin D 25(OH)D in a blood sample taken from a finger. By regularly checking your vitamin D levels, you can determine whether you need additional vitamin D supplementation.

How to use:

The test should be removed from the packaging immediately before performing the test. Wash your hands with soap and warm water (to increase blood circulation in the finger that will be pricked) and dry thoroughly. Remove the test plate from the foil envelope and place it on a clean and even surface. Perform the test within one hour, but best results will be obtained if the test is performed immediately after opening the package. Remove the pipette, buffer vial, sterile lancing device and alcohol swab and place them close to the test plate. Carefully remove and discard the sterile lancing device cap. Use the alcohol wipe provided to clean the pad of your middle or ring finger as the puncture site. Allow to dry. Press the lancing device with the side where the cap was removed, the tip retracts automatically and is safe after use. Massage your hand without touching the puncture site, towards the pad of the middle or ring finger that is to be pricked. Keeping your hand down, massage the finger that has been pricked to obtain a drop of blood. Without squeezing the pipette bulb, place it on the formed drop of blood. Blood flows into the pipette by capillary forces up to the line indicated on the pipette. You can massage your finger again to get more blood if the blood does not reach the indicated fill line. Avoid formation of air bubbles. Place the collected blood sample into the sample well (S) on the test plate by squeezing the pipette bulb. Wait until the blood from the pipette is completely transferred to the well. Unscrew the cap of the buffer vial and add 2 drops of buffer to the buffer well (B) on the test plate. Wait until the lines appear. Read the results after 10 minutes. Compare the intensity of the T-line with the "test reading guide" provided with the kit to determine your vitamin D level.
